Our Water Restoration Process

3/25/2021 (Permalink)

When a flood happens in your business, call SERVPRO® of McKinney.  Even when the source of the water has been shut off, water will continue to move from high to low, under and between walls, potentially causing further damage to your property and contents. It is important to remove the standing water as soon as possible.  SERVPRO® of McKinney is ready to respond to any size disaster 24/7/365.  After contacting our office, our water damage professionals will arrive within 4 hours to start the water mitigation process.

Our goal is to contain and extract the water to prevent any further loss, and to start the drying process as soon as possible.

Extraction

SERVPRO® of McKinney uses professional water extraction equipment to effectively remove the visible water from all the affected areas within your property.  Our top of the line equipment is effective on carpet, hardwood and all other hard surfaces.

Drying

After all standing water is removed we will start the drying process. By using the science of drying it is possible to pull additional moisture from materials that may have absorbed water during the initial flood.  Our water damage professionals will set up air movers and dehumidifiers which work together to achieve this goal.  The air mover’s primary focus is on evaporation while the dehumidifiers pull moisture from the air and condense it into water, which is then pumped out into the nearest drain.  Together these are the most effective tools used to remove moisture from any size water damaged structure.  However, even with water extraction and the drying equipment, sometimes highly saturated structural materials, such as  drywall, ceiling tiles or carpet, might need to be removed.

Monitor

After equipment is placed, within your schedule we will return to monitor the drying progress for the next few days.  This is to insure your property dries quickly and according to plan.  If we find that a property is taking longer than usual to dry during these monitor checks, we will be able to take corrective actions in a timely manner to prevent any secondary damages from taking place.

Restoration

Once the drying goal has been met your property will be back to preloss moisture levels and we will remove the drying equipment.  If any structural materials were removed, it will be time to have these materials replaced.  SERVPRO® of McKinney offers reconstruction services, so you have the ease of working with just one provider from the beginning to the end.  We can make it “Like it never even happened.”
