Replace Those Batteries!

2/27/2020 (Permalink)

Do remember when there were less than twelve holidays that were celebrated each year? New Years Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve? There were a few more days that were government, bank or school holidays, but it was still easy to remember all of them. But now, every single day of the year has become a national day for celebrating many different things. There are over 1,500 national days of things to celebrate even though we only have 365 calendar days to celebrate them. One of these is National Battery Day, which was February 15th.

National Battery Day was created to raise awareness of the importance of testing and having working batteries in our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. These detectors help warn you of a potentially life threatening situation, giving vital time to get you and your loved ones to safety. This is why it is so important to make sure the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in your home or business have working batteries. It’s never too late to take this safety step, so if you haven’t changed the batteries in these devices yet this year, do it now!
