Rain Storm Damage in McKinney, TX
Following a heavy rain storm, the roof of this office building in McKinney, Texas leaked, causing extensive water damage to the interior of the building. At first glance it appeared that only the drop ceiling and insulation had water damage; however, by using state of the art water detection meters, our technicians also found moisture in the walls. Because this is commercial property, the building had to be tested for asbestos in the sheetrock before any tear out could be done; so, our technicians placed air movers and dehumidifiers to start the drying process while waiting on the results of the asbestos testing.
Once we received verification of no asbestos, our technicians then did the necessary tear out to remove the drop ceiling, sheetrock and insulation that was wet. The air movers and dehumidifiers were left in place to continue the drying process.
