Flooding from Hurricane Harvey
Even if your house survives the high winds that come with a hurricane, the associated storm surge and subsequent flooding can cause extensive damage to homes that are further inland. That’s what happened with this home in Beaumont, TX. It survived Hurricane Harvey but suffered extensive water damage from the subsequent flood water.
All the flooring had to be removed. Because all surface water flooding is considered contaminated, it was also necessary to remove all cabinetry and all drywall at 2-feet above the water line. Once the tear out was done, air movers and dehumidifiers were placed throughout the house to aid in the drying process.
